Privacy policy

Last updated 7 November 2026. Applies to the game (free edition, paid edition and Android TV) and to this website. Parts that apply to only one edition are marked.

The short version

  • There is no account, sign-up, email address or phone number in this game.
  • Your progress and settings are stored on your own device.
  • If you finish a run and the leaderboard is on, your chosen display name, your score and a random player ID are sent to our leaderboard. Other players can see your name and score.
  • Free edition onlyThe free edition shows ads (Google AdMob) and sells optional in-app purchases through Google Play.
  • The paid edition has no ads and no in-app purchases, so none of the advertising or purchase information described below applies to it.
  • The website shows the public leaderboard (display names and scores) and loads nothing from YouTube until you press play on the trailer.
  • If you join our email list on the website, we keep your email address and the game you chose.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and the game and the website have no analytics or tracking tools of our own.
  • You can switch the online leaderboard off, and you can ask us to delete your leaderboard data (see “Your choices and rights”).

Who we are and what this covers

This policy covers the Android game Astro & Pup: Fetch the Stars, made by HeyDay Games (“we”, “us”), in its free edition, its paid edition and on Android TV, and our website at astroandpup.heyday.games.

If you play the game on a web games platform instead, that platform’s own privacy policy applies to that version.

You can contact us at [email protected].

Stored on your device

The game saves your progress on your device: stardust, unlocked pups and suits, upgrades, missions, best scores, settings, your leaderboard name, a random player ID, and your choices about reminders and the leaderboard. This stays on your device. It is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the game.

If you use Android’s backup, Android may copy this data to your Google account according to your device settings. We do not receive it.

Online leaderboard

When you finish a run, the game can send your score to our leaderboard so you can compare it with other players. The first time, the game asks you to choose a display name.

What is sent: the display name you chose (or the default one the game suggests), your score, the planet you reached, the game mode, a random player ID that the game created on your device, and tokens our service issues to detect cheating.

What we receive automatically: your IP address and technical details of the request, such as the app and device type. Our hosting provider may attach an approximate country worked out from your IP address, and we may keep it with your score.

What others can see: your display name, score, rank and the planet you reached, in the game and on the leaderboard page of our website, which anyone can open. Please do not use your real name or other personal information as your display name. We may remove names and scores that are offensive or look like cheating.

The player ID is random. It is not linked to your name, email address or Google account, and we cannot tell who you are from it. We use it so the leaderboard can keep your best score and your rank.

You can switch the leaderboard off at any time (see “Your choices and rights”). The game then stops sending scores.

Our website

The website at astroandpup.heyday.games shows the game’s leaderboard (display names, scores and planets reached) and information about the game. It does not show your player ID.

The website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Its fonts and images are served from the website itself.

Our hosting provider processes requests to the website, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

The trailer is a YouTube video. It is not loaded when you open the page. Only if you press play does your browser load it from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube then handles your data under Google’s privacy policy. Email updates

If you want to hear about new games, you can enter your email address on our website and choose which game you are interested in. We store your email address, the game you chose and the date in a spreadsheet in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, filled in through a Google Apps Script form handler).

We use it only to email you about new games from the Astro & Pup universe. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else, and we do not add you to any other list.

You can ask us to remove your email address at any time by writing to [email protected]. We keep it until you ask, or until we stop the list.

In-app purchasesFree edition only

Purchases are made through Google Play. Google handles your payment details; the game and we never see your card or account details.

To unlock what you bought and to prevent fraud, the game sends the item, the purchase token from Google Play and your random player ID to our service. Our service checks the purchase with Google Play and keeps a record of it: which item, when, and whether it was refunded. Google also tells our service about refunds and cancellations.

We use this only to deliver and restore your purchases, prevent fraud, handle refunds and meet accounting and legal duties.

AdsFree edition only

The free edition shows ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad between some rounds, and an optional video you can watch to revive. Google collects information directly through its advertising software, such as your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device and app information and how you interact with ads. Google uses it to show and measure ads under its own privacy policy.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), the game first shows Google’s consent message so you can choose whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice later in Settings, under Privacy options, where it is available.

You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your Android settings (Settings, then Google, then Ads). More information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Reminders

If you say yes, the game schedules two reminder notifications on your device (about your daily reward, and to come back and play). Your device creates and shows them. We do not send push messages and we do not use a server for them. You can turn them off in the game’s Settings or in Android’s notification settings. Android asks for your permission first.

Other information, and what the game does not access

Google Play may give us combined statistics and crash or performance reports about how the game runs on devices, under Google’s own policies. These do not identify you to us.

The game uses your device’s vibration (if you leave it on) and can keep the screen awake while you play. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location.

The game contains no analytics, tracking or social-media tools of our own.

How we use information

  • Run the game and the leaderboard, and keep your best score and rank.
  • Detect and prevent cheating, abuse and fraud, and keep our service secure.
  • Free edition onlyVerify, deliver and restore purchases, and handle refunds.
  • Free edition onlyShow and measure ads (Google does this).
  • Send the reminders you asked for.
  • Send news about new games, if you joined the email list.
  • Fix problems and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the game, and when the law requires it:

How long we keep information

  • On your device: until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the game.
  • Leaderboard entries (name, score, player ID, approximate country): while the leaderboard is in use. Daily boards are archived when each day ends and the archive is kept. We delete an entry when you ask us to.
  • Free edition onlyPurchase records: as long as needed for refunds, fraud prevention and accounting or legal duties.
  • Email list: until you ask us to remove your address, or until we stop the list.
  • Technical server logs, such as IP addresses: only for a limited time, for security and troubleshooting.

Your choices and rights

  • Leaderboard: switch it off in the game under Settings, then Privacy policy. You can change your display name in the leaderboard screen; the new name shows with your next score.
  • Free edition onlyAds: use Privacy options in Settings (where available) and your Android ad settings.
  • Reminders: turn them off in Settings, or in Android’s notification settings.
  • Email updates: write to [email protected] and we will remove your address.
  • Data on your device: clear the app’s data or uninstall the game.

Access, correction, deletion and other rights. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK, Switzerland or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to get a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email [email protected] and include your player ID (shown in the game under Settings, then Privacy policy) and the display name you used. We will reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Deleting your leaderboard entry removes your name and score from the leaderboard. It does not remove information held by Google, such as your Google Play purchases or ad activity, which you can manage with Google.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The game is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age set by the law where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and think a child has sent us a display name or other information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Security and international transfers

The game and the website talk to our services over HTTPS, and scores are signed to make cheating harder. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure.

Our providers run servers in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. They use their own safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at https://astroandpup.heyday.games/privacy and update the date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will also tell you in the game or on the store page.
